17 year old girl beaten unconscious in North Pattaya road rage incident

Pattaya road rage assaultA 17 year old girl was beaten unconscious in an apparent case of road rage which began in North Pattaya, in the early hours of Saturday. The girl and her 19 year old boyfriend, Khun Sawigorn were taken to Banglamung Hospital, where Police took up the case and spoke with the pair. They were on their way home and had stopped at the traffic lights in North Pattaya where it intersects with the Sukhumvit Road. A man in a car behind them claimed he was forced to brake sharply after the bike cut across his path. The claims were initially ignored by the pair who continued their journey towards the entrance to Highway 7 where the car pulled in front of them and forced the bike to stop. The driver of the car approached the pair and was seen to have a gun.

Russian tourist attacked and robbed at gunpoint in South Pattaya

Injured touristA Russian Couple were subjected to a horrifying experience in the early hours of Tuesday as they returned to their Hotel after celebrating Halloween. Mr. and Mrs. Kazachenko were in Soi 6 off the Pratamnuk Road and were only meters away from their Hotel when they were confronted by a Thai Man and woman. The man, who was described as overweight produced a gun and threatened the pair, demanding they hand over all cash and valuables. Mrs. Kazanchenko decided to fight back and was punched in the face by the armed man. She fell to the ground and the man stole her handbag and snatched a gold necklace from around her neck before the two suspects fled the scene.

Glue Sniffer shot dead in broad daylight in North Pattaya

A 34 year old man was shot dead in broad daylight on Monday afternoon in a street in Naklua. Police and Rescue Services were called to Soi 14 off the Naklua Road where they were met with a crowd of people surrounding the body of Khun Chairat aged 34. A gun-shot wound to his shoulder was seen and inside his trouser pocket was a plastic bag containing a solvent solution which was also found in a small bottle hidden inside his trousers.

Police impersonator charged with fraud by Pattaya Police

Fake copperA Thai man, impersonating a Police Officer and claiming to offer low interest rates on loans, was arrested by Police and charged with fraud on Monday. Police were called to a Pub close to Big C in North Pattaya by a group of women who suspected the man was up to no-good. After a short chase Police arrested Khun Somshai aged 39 who claimed he was a Police Officer from Yala Province in the South of Thailand with high-level connections. In fact he was a football referee from Pattaya who claimed he could offer cash loans of up to 100,000 Baht to each of the women with an interest rate of 10%, compared to other money lenders who ask for 20%, the catch was they would have to pay him 10,000 Baht for an admin charge before the cash could be handed over. Initially 3,000 Baht was handed to the man with the promise of the further 7,000 Baht on Monday.

Pattaya jetski scam exposed on Thai TV

Pattaya jetski scamsA national TV channel that recently exposed a Jet Ski Scam operating on Pattaya Beach has local government and the Police hastily seeking answers as to why this illegal activity has been allowed to occur for many years. Despite foreign television programs, You Tube and social networking sites featuring stories of Jet Ski scams, the local authorities have never taken definitive action to stamp-out the scams and regulate the Jet Ski operators, many of which operate as unlicensed individuals who pay no tax and possess no insurance cover for their customers. The latest exposé which was broadcast on Channel 3 here in Thailand has Pattaya Police and Local Government scrambling for answers to the scams which have been operating for many years under the noses of local authorities who have failed to eradicate the problem. Meetings were held at Pattaya City Hall and at Pattaya Police Station led by the Chief of Banglamung District and the Provincial Commander of Police to come up with solutions.

Rogue Pattaya Police Volunteers caught-on-film at illegal checkpoint in South Pattaya

Pattaya police volunteer scamIt has been suggested that rogue Pattaya Police Volunteers are setting up their own checkpoints around the city and taking cash in exchange for alleged motoring offences without any regular police officers being present. We have filmed one such checkpoint and can positively identify them as Pattaya Police Volunteers. Our journalists received complaints from residents in Soi Bongkot in South Pattaya who were angered at these apparently illegal checkpoints and asked us to secretly film one and send our footage to the Pattaya Police Chief. Our pictures were taken in the early hours of Monday Morning and it was confirmed that no uniformed Police Officers were present.

Man murdered over gunman's bitten duck in East Pattaya

Pattaya murderA man was killed in the early hours of Thursday over a disagreement with a neighbor over the victim’s dog who was accused of biting the shooters pet duck. Police from Huoy Yai Station were called to an Auto Repair Shop in Soi Huoy Yai where they inspected the body of Khun Suchart aged 43, a motorbike taxi driver stationed outside the Jomtien Paradise Condominium. He had been shot once in his chest and was pronounced dead-at-the-scene. The shop owner, Khun Prasert aged 66 was nowhere to be seen and is thought to have murdered the victim according to Khun Chichanok aged 27, the girlfriend of the victim, who revealed the two men had been arguing over the problem between the dog and the duck for some time.

Too stupid to own a gun?

Pattaya man shoots himselfA man was admitted to Banglamung Hospital early on Saturday Morning claiming to have been shot in the leg in a random shooting which occurred in North Pattaya. Khun Atit aged 19, who was in considerable pain, claimed he was shot by a male passenger in a White car on the North Pattaya Road, however the wound suggests to medical staff it may be self-inflicted, because of the gunpowder residue around the wound. Police later questioned Khun Atit before he was transferred to Chonburi Hospital for more specialized treatment and are convinced he may have accidentally expelled a firearm in his possession which caused him to sustain the injury.

Two men shot near Pattaya police box

Driveby shooting PattayaTwo men were shot only meters away from a 24 hour Police Box in Jomtien, early on Tuesday Morning. Police ran down to the “Mood Dang” Store located in front of Soi 1 on the Tepprasit Road, just before 5.30am after hearing a total of 4 gun shots. Inside the shop, two men were on the floor with apparent gunshot injuries. Rescue workers arrived and attended to Khun Somsak aged 21 who was shot in his left elbow, and Khun Biyapon aged 22 who had been shot in his right leg. Both men were taken to Hospital while the shop owner explained to Police that the two victims were sitting and drinking in front of the shop when a group of young men on motorbikes drove past creating a significant amount of noise with their motorbikes. Words were exchanged between the two men and the motorbike gang which culminated in one of the gang members producing a gun.

Mother caught selling M16 assault rifle, to raise bail for her son

Pattaya machine gunPattaya Police arrested two people in possession of drugs and an M16 Machine Gun on Thursday Night. Police Colonel Tirapon, the Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police led a press conference to announce the arrested of the male suspect, who was caught with 121 Yabba Tablets. The other case involved Khun Bakong aged 50 who was arrested following an undercover operation whereby an operative used marked bank notes to buy an M16 Machine Gun with bullets for 25,000 Baht. She intended to use the money to pay bail for her Son who was arrested recently in possession of 600 Yabba Tablets. Khun Bakong, out of desperation, sold the gun which she knew her son was in possession of so he could leave Prison.
